TGPRINT

General information

The name, the developer, the purpose and the components of the TGPRINT software product, together with the terms used in this document.

Updated:

This document describes the functional characteristics of the TGPRINT software product: what the product does, under what conditions it performs its functions, what technical means it requires and what operational qualities it has. It is intended for the users of the platform (the management and the team of the print shop), for those evaluating the product before purchase and for the employees of the developer organization.

The document does not replace the working instructions: the way the product is operated, screen by screen, is described in the User guide, to which every function below refers. The processes through which the product is maintained and developed are the subject of the "Product lifecycle" document.

1.1. Name of the product

Full name: TGPRINT — a web-to-print platform for print shops (an online store with a price calculator, order management and production management).

Short name, used throughout the rest of the document: TGPRINT, "the platform" or "the product".

Note. TGPRINT is the name of the product, not of the store. Every print shop operates it under its own brand — its own name, logo, colours and domain — configured from the admin panel (see F18).

1.2. Basic data

  • Developer and rights holder: TG Print, a digital print shop from Chișinău, Republic of Moldova. The platform was built for the developer's own production, is operated daily on real orders and is then offered to other print shops (About us).
  • Form of delivery: a service accessed over the internet (SaaS). The product is hosted, updated and maintained by the developer; the print shop receives its online store on its own domain (or subdomain) and access to the admin panel. Nothing is installed on the print shop's side.
  • Third-party components: the product is built on widely used web technologies and on components with open licences, used in accordance with those licences; using it does not entail licence payments to third parties for the embedded components.
  • External services: payment processing, courier delivery, e-mail sending, messaging and traffic analytics are services of third-party providers, connected optionally through integrations, with the print shop's own accounts at those providers. They are not part of the product and can be enabled or disabled independently (F26).
  • Ownership of data: the catalogue, the customers, the orders and the files of each print shop belong to that print shop; when use ends, they can be exported. The product processes personal data of the print shop's customers (name, contact details, delivery addresses) on behalf of and for the print shop, in accordance with the terms and the privacy policy published on the store's website.
  • Languages: the interface of the storefront and of the admin panel is available in Romanian, Russian and English.

1.3. Purpose of the product

1.3.1. Functional purpose

The product is intended for the online sale of printed products (web-to-print technology): the print shop's customer configures the product in a price calculator, sees the price immediately, uploads the artwork, chooses delivery and payment and places the order; the print shop receives the order in the admin panel and moves it, through statuses, up to handover.

The product can be used for any printed product whose price is described by format, material, quantity, printing and finishing operations and production time: business cards, flyers and leaflets, brochures and catalogues, posters, calendars, stationery (letterheads, envelopes, folders), menus, labels and stickers, banners and other large-format materials, gift certificates, promotional products.

The product provides the following groups of functions:

  • price calculator configurable for each product — formats, quantities, materials, printing, finishing, timeframes — built from reference books of materials and operations with their prices;
  • catalogue and storefront, multilingual, with a content management system (pages, widgets, menu, blog), configurable design and SEO tools;
  • cart, checkout and customer account (including ordering without an account), with artwork upload and automatic artwork checking, plus a human artwork check service;
  • order management with configurable statuses and tabs, automatic transition rules, notifications to the customer, a production queue, a job ticket and documents (invoice, delivery note, completion certificate);
  • customers, organizations and groups, with payment terms for legal entities and group discounts;
  • payments — online by card, by transfer, cash on pickup, on invoice with a due date — with VAT, multi-currency support and a bonus (cashback) programme;
  • delivery — pickup and courier methods, cities, branches and pickup points, generation of transport documents (AWB) with the integrated couriers;
  • marketing — discounts and promo codes, referral programme, banners, gift certificates, newsletter;
  • accounting — the invoice register, the realization documents, the reconciliation acts, the returns;
  • administration — roles and permissions, users, automatic assignment of orders to managers, dashboard, exports, history of changes.

Note. The product does not include an online graphic editor for artwork. The artwork is prepared outside the platform, according to the print requirements published by the print shop on the product page, and is uploaded ready for print; the platform checks it and keeps it linked to the order.

The product is recommended to digital and offset print shops of any size, to advertising agencies and to resellers of printed products (including under a franchise arrangement, with production at a partner).

1.3.2. Operational purpose

The product is operated as a service over the internet, in a web browser, without installation. Each print shop operates its own instance of the platform, with its own data, settings and domain. The instance has two faces, served by the same system:

  • the storefront, permanently available to customers, on the print shop's domain;
  • the admin panel, available to the print shop's team at the /admin address of the same domain, with access based on account and role.
